Just read a Danish triology about the slavetrade, the virgin islands and the uprising. Very compelling and sad stuff to read! But so happy it got abolished and that the islands now thrive 🙂
St Croix! Not as touristy calm and beautiful. Good foods, beaches and gardens. Easy going locals who are very tolerant of mainlander driving. It's home the day I retire, soon.

Going there on a cruise and want a good beach? Magens Bay is beautiful and a quick taxi drive. But it also gets busy at times.
