    Capilano Suspension Bridge
    A simple suspension bridge crossing the Capilano River. Is 140 metres (460 ft) long and 70 metres (230 ft) above the river. It is part of a private facility, with an admission fee, and draws over 800,000 visitors a year.

    Vancouver Aquarium
    A public aquarium located in Stanley Park. A centre for marine research, conservation and marine animal rehabilitation. Covers approximately 9,000 square metres (97,000 sq ft) and has a total 9,500,000 litres of water in 166 aquatic displays.

    Sunset Beach
    Situated in the West End near the Burrard Street Bridge. Has lifeguards on duty in the warm months. Public washrooms and concession stands are nearby. An ideal location for watching Vancouver fireworks.

    Playland
    An amusement park located in Hastings Park. The oldest amusement park in Canada. Every year the park will replace one or two rides with new ones and the attendance of the park is always near capacity during the annual fair.

    Stanley Park
    A 1,001-acre public park that borders the downtown. Is almost entirely surrounded by waters of the Pacific Ocean. The park is not the creation of a landscape architect, but rather the evolution of a forest and urban space over many years.

    Science World
    A science centre run by a not-for-profit organization. Located at the end of False Creek, and features many permanent interactive exhibits and displays, as well as areas with varying topics throughout the years.

    Vancouver Art Gallery
    The fifth-largest art gallery in Canada and the largest in Western Canada. Its permanent collection of about 10,000 artworks includes more than 200 major works by Emily Carr, the Group of Seven, Jeff Wall, and Marc Chagall.

    Canada Place
    A building situated on the Burrard Inlet waterfront. It is the home of the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel, Vancouver's World Trade Centre, and FlyOver Canada. Covered by fabric roofs resembling sails.

    VanDusen Botanical Garden
    A public garden since opened on August 30, 1975. Covers 22 hectares (55 acres) and displays plants gathered from all over the world. A popular site for local weddings. Located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood.

    Lions Gate Bridge
    A suspension bridge that crosses the first narrows of Burrard Inlet. Opened in 1938, officially known as the First Narrows Bridge. The main span alone is 473 m, the tower height is 111 m, and it has a ship's clearance of 61 m.
