I think it's too early to travel, especially for frontline healthcare workers who are exposed on a daily when working but I miss traveling dearly. Since you're in NY, you can travel to all the Northeastern states! You don't even have to quarantine since you're from NY traveling to the nearby states and the Northeastern states got the cases under control. Just rent a car and travel to different cities and states. It's only 4 hours to Boston, assuming you're close to NYC. You can even feed squirrels at Boston Public Garden. lol. They gained so much confidence these few years that they will just go up to you for food.
IтАЩm British and so far have travelled domestically in England and Scotland and will be travelling to Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Italy in 2 weeks. Europe is a lot further through the pandemic with most outbreaks well contained and almost all borders opened to Europeans. I would say travelling Europe is safe enough now. However, this wonтАЩt help as almost all European countries are closed off to the US still.

My wife and I decided to do a road trip to Yellowstone grand Tetons and arches. We didnтАЩt feel safe doing any air travel so we decided on a road trip and hands down best idea ever! We got to see nice little towns had great food met some great people. Definitely recommend a road trip during these times.

As long as you choose long dstances over 6 feet from people and low population density places travel is fine I would do car not plane for lowest risk.

It's definitely safe, the only worry is that certain countries could reinforce severe freedom restriction after reopening.
